They have a default template for the student which I used to get started. I spent the rest of my afternoon setting up OneNote as my “binder” filled with “notebooks” for all of my classes for the upcoming semester. I chose to make this purchase because of my personal and educational use of Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Excel. OneNote – I would like to make note that my tablet PC came with a CD with a fully licensed version of Microsoft OneNote 2007, making the purchase of Microsoft Office 2007 unnecessary to make my “Modern Student” concept work.It took about an hour to download, install, and set up. I would also like to note that I purchased it off the internet for download which is more environmentally friendly (and might even be cheaper). I took an Intro to C++ Programming class two years ago and I think I paid about $60 for it. If you take a computer science class at most colleges, you can get it for an even larger discount. I purchased and downloaded my Student Edition (which was actually called Enterprise when I downloaded it) of Microsoft Office 2007 today. I hate to give too much credit to Microsoft because I think they’ve put out a lot of bad products over the last couple decades, but Microsoft’s Windows 7 and OneNote 2007 are some fantastic products that I am using in a way that could revolutionize the way students go to college.
